We would like to make Resumes visible to select others outside of our HR team that already have TA access. We do not see a way to permission to the Personal Info or All files area.  Has anyone done this?

Hi @EavesS, this is possible, but in Eightfold, it is typically handled through Roles (role-based security and profile layout tab access) rather than by granting ad-hoc access to individual users for specific sections like “Personal Info” or “All files.”

How to make Resume / Files visible to selected non‑HR users

1. Ensure the user role has candidate profile access

Even if a user can log into the TA platform, their ability to see candidate profiles is governed by recruiting permissions. If a user’s role includes any recruiting-related permissions (such as pipeline-related access), they can view candidate profiles.

If your target users cannot reliably access candidate profiles, the solution is typically to:

  • Create or adjust a specific role for them.

  • Ensure that role includes the appropriate recruiting permissions.

2. Control tab visibility via Profile Layout role access

The specific control for areas like Resume, Personal Info, and Files is managed in the Candidate Profile → Profile Layout configuration.

In Admin Console → Talent Acquisition → Profile Layout, each tab or component supports specific gating:

  • “Children: Roles”: Defines which roles can access that specific tab or component.

  • “Skip roles”: Defines which roles are blocked from accessing that tab or component.

To expose these files to a selected group outside of HR, you should place those users in a dedicated role and then update the Profile Layout to allow that role to view the Resume, Personal Info, or Files components.

3. Confirm the “Files” tab is present

For users to see “All files,” a dedicated Files tab must be active in your profile layout configuration. Eightfold supports this as a specific component on the candidate profile for all attached documents.

Key Limitation: Why there isn't a "Share" button

Under the documented configuration model, access is controlled strictly at the role level. You cannot grant access to "Personal Info" or "Files" to specific named individuals directly through the candidate UI; it must be managed via the permissions and layout gating described above.
