After scheduling a candidate for an interview, is there a way to send a follow-up email after the interview has taken place? We’re looking at ways we can send more automated communication to candidates and would like to send a follow-up email after an interview is completed. I have been looking at the automation center, and don’t see a trigger based on interview scheduled date but would love to hear if anyone has creative workarounds or completed a similar action!

Hi @KatieP  -  the challenge here is that because the interview doesn’t happen within Eightfold, we to rely on “poxy” actions to validate if it actually happened, and then make automations work. So, if a feedback form was completed or the recruiter advances the candidates stage you could use that action as the trigger and then automate from there. A few examples:

  1. Feedback Workflow: Interviewers are assigned to submit feedback for a candidate after an interview, so you could create a workflow that triggers once interview feedback is received, sending a template email to the candidate. This obviously relies on responsiveness of the HM’s.
  2. Stage Change Workflow: You could set up an automated workflow that triggers an email based on the candidate's stage change after the interview. For example, you can create a workflow that triggers when the candidate's status changes to "Post-Interview" and then sends a follow-up email.
  3. Post-Interview Feedback Email: The recruiter may send a request to the hiring manager to provide feedback after an interview. This email can be configured to include a follow-up message to the candidate as well. You can customize this feedback email template to include a thank you note or additional information for the candidate.
