Workaround solutions for email cc feature and break in threads between eightfold and email apps (gmail)

In the current state, our users will send emails in eightfold and cc another user on the email. This may be a sourcer cc’ing a recruiter for an introduction or a talent coordinator cc’ing the recruiter on scheduling comms. After its sent. the recipient will see someone is cc’s on it. If anyone “replies all” through their email (gmail for example), we’ve found that cc’ doesn’t stick on the reply all.

How are other customers working around this to ensure there is collaboration and messaging tracking is effective?

I don’t need an answer anymore from the community. This has been raised as a support ticket with Eightfold and they are investigating.

Hi @Drew Kreiger , following up on this as we are still experiencing the issue and would like to push on the ER request. Please see the most recent response from EF Support:

“From my understanding, the Talent Coordinator sends an email to the candidate and the recruiter is kept in CC.

But later when the candidate replies, the recruiter is not included in CC anymore and does not see the message in EF?

There is the normal case where if the candidate did not use reply all, then this would drop the cc'ed user as normal with any email provider.

But if they did use Reply All, their email client automatically adds the Recruiter in the To or CC field. The email is then sent directly to the Recruiter by the email client, but not through Eightfold.

Because of that, Eightfold doesn't track or log this email in user messages, since it was never routed through our system.

So it would be expected that this message would not show for the user in Eightfold.

At the moment, there is no workaround for this gap. But I have seen other customers request this and I would recommend that you address in the Community Ideas Board.”
