ATS stage “Forwarded” says “1” when I go to that stage, I get 47 candidates. Which one was forwarded?
ATS Stage quantities wrong?

How to identify which candidate is actually “Forwarded”
If the stage filter/count shows Forwarded = 1, but the grid shows many candidates when you click into Forwarded, the most reliable way to identify the single forwarded candidate is to use sorting and inspection on the pipeline grid:
- Add/enable a timestamp column (for example, Application Time / Application Ts or Current Stage Ts) and then sort so you can see which candidate most recently entered (or is currently in) that stage.Â
- If available in your view, use the “Sync Activity” / “Recent Note” / ATS details columns to find the candidate whose status is truly “Forwarded” (and to spot candidates whose stage display is stale or whose application isn’t actually present).
If you don’t currently have those columns in the Forwarded view, this is a workflow configuration issue (your Admin can expose those fields on that tab/view).

Why the count can show “1” while 47 candidates appear
Based on the pipeline FAQ, the most common explanation for a mismatch between the stage count and the list you see after clicking in is bulk-action lag / temporary inconsistency—the UI can show different numbers for a short period after bulk actions.Â
In practice, this can look like:
- The stage filter/count reflects the “correct” (or more recently computed) number (1).Â
- The candidate list still includes candidates that were previously in that stage (or were moved in bulk) and haven’t fully refreshed/settled yet (47).
The guidance is to avoid repeating bulk actions back-to-back and leave a few minutes between bulk actions to prevent these discrepancies/performance issues.

A second, separate cause to consider: “Forwarded” candidates may not be true applicants
Eightfold distinguishes “forwarded” candidates from applicants in some workflows—there is even a configurable rule to disallow stage advance of Forwarded candidates, where forwarded candidates are described as “those who have not applied.”
So another reason you can see surprising behavior in the “Forwarded” slice is that some of those 47 might not be active, valid applications in the same way as your “1” true forwarded application (for example, they may be candidates associated to the position but not true applicants, or they may be in a state that doesn’t count the same way the stage counter does).
