Welcome to the discussion page for Symetra's integration between Docebo and Eightfold Talent Management. Below are frequently asked questions from the community regarding this integration. If you have further questions please add them in the discussion below.
1. How often does Symetra refresh the learning content from Docebo into Eightfold TM?
We have a dynamic learning environment and send information daily.
2. What kind of learning content does Symetra transfer from Docebo into Eightfold TM?
We chose to bring in voluntary learning content only, which includes:
- eLearning courses.
- Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions focused on professional development.
We opted not to include compliance training, department-specific trainings, or learning programs requiring applications, as these are not open for self-enrollment, and there’s no way to control visibility on the Eightfold side.
3. How does Symetra manage compliance training?
Compliance training is fully managed in Docebo.
4. What is Symetra's approach to skills matching and their future vision?
Our approach is a work in progress. Key initiatives include:
- Setting up roles in the Job Intelligence Engine (JIE) with basic skills associations.
- Using these skills to tag courses in Docebo and identify content gaps.
- Leveraging Skills Assessments and Career Interests reporting in Eightfold to inform content and program strategy.
5. Does Symetra use proficiency levels, and how are they inferred (in Docebo or Eightfold)?
We do not currently use proficiency levels.
6. Does Symetra use Google Analytics in either platform?
No, we do not use Google Analytics at this time.
7. How does Symetra manage notifications about learning in both systems?
- Docebo: Notifications are primarily managed through Docebo’s email notification functionality. We use a simple, go-to template for consistency but are exploring ways to enhance look and feel with additional templates.
- Eightfold: Notifications are not currently used in Eightfold.
8. Would Symetra do anything differently or the same in implementation and their journey?
The Course Marketplace aspect of the system is straightforward, but in hindsight, we would:
- Perform a more thorough evaluation of learning content before implementation.
- Tag content with skills proactively to streamline the process.
That said, these areas for improvement have not significantly impacted the platform’s user experience.
